Swim Lessons

MSTA offers our members Individual or group Swim Lessons taught by Marlins Coaches or Marlins senior swimmers. Lessons are currently not available to non-members.  *** REGISTRATION FOR 2023 IS NOW OPEN! (CLICK THIS LINK) ***
 

Individual Lessons

Individual Lessons can be arranged directly through one of our Marlins Coaches. Please see the Marlins Coach Page for more information.
 

Group Lessons

Group Lessons are taught by Marlins senior swimmers with supervision by Atticus Gore, the Head Coach for the Future Marlins and Swim Lessons. The program offers three levels of group instruction from familiarity with the water to stroke development. Group lessons are intended for swimmers of all ages, 16 months and older. All swimmers are evaluated at the first lesson of the week to determine appropriate class level placement.

 
Classes
 
 Level Description 
Beginner  Gentle instruction, learn to relax in water safely. Children will acquire kicking, gliding, and back floating skills.
Intermediate Swimmers introduced to large pool. Basic skills: bubbles, floating on front and back, and basic freestyle skills.  Also introduction to basic backstroke skills.
 Advanced Develop basic freestyle with rotary breathing, backstroke skills, treading water and diving safety skills; learning to swim length of the pool; introduction to breaststroke, butterfly, and flip turns.
   
Group lessons are held from 11:30 am - 12:00 pm, Monday - Thursday with Friday being a make-up day if necessary (unless otherwise noted). Each weekly session is $45. You can sign up for group lessons on our Registration page.

For the 2023 summer season there will be 5 sessions: 

Session 1: June 19-22
Session 2: June 26-30 (No lessons on Wednesday June 28th due to Relay Carnival) 
Session 3: July 3, 5, 6 and 7 (No lessons on Tue. July 4th)
Session 4: July 10, 11, 13 & 14 (No lessons on Wed. July 12th due to All Star Relays Swim Meet)
Session 5: July 17-20
